It was probably a delusion to think he would dodge the bullet, but Liam really had been too tired to think he would be at risk of falling into a depression. Initially, after the whole ordeal, he knew he was scared and he was physically hurt, but the numbness he felt in general lulled him into a false sense of security that he would be okay...
